We have some leftover Independence Day thoughts, and while Three Stone Steps doesn't offer any USA flags, we do have a recycled oil drum wall hanging of the fantastic flag of Washington, DC.
It has stars and stripes, so the same components as the flags people wave for the holiday. We hope you had a great middle of the week holiday, and hope the upcoming weekend is wonderful, too. You can find this DC flag metal wall decor right here.

I'm looking at this compelling piece of recycled oil drum art as I write, since it's on living room wall, right across from me. While I love and would proudly display all our metal art in my home--in fact, that's how I decide to carry. I ask myself: would this be something I could live with--I have a special fondness for this piece. I sit across from it all the time, and often think about its asymmetry and its lattice like work. The piece, in Voudu, is the veve (or religious symbol) of Erzulie Dantor. As with most religions, there are different interpretations of the Erzulie Danto lwa (or spirit). We gravitate to the interpretation of her as a fiercely independent and strong woman, and the goddess of beauty. Of course, your interpretation works, too, as does just appreciating this piece of recycled metal art aesthetically. Find this piece here. ![]() This is one of our very favorite pieces of oil drum art. We've carried it for a few years now. Not only is it graphically interesting, it's open to interpretation: Is it a Medusa-type figure? The Vodou spirit Damballa? A symbol of rebirth? It can be all or something else, or none of those at all. That's one of the reasons this piece is so great. Should you want this for your wall or for some outdoor décor, you can find it here. And, if you're a father and you celebrate, an early Happy Father's Day! ![]() Your reminder that Mother's Day is a mere nine days ago. We're moving on from our botanical and floral Mother's Day themes into some fish/nautical themes. Perfect for Mom's beach house (if she's lucky enough to have one) or lake house (also, lucky! lucky!), or likes to fish, or cook with fish, or use nautical themes to decorate her house/apartment/RV/etc. While not a fish, this great metal mermaid lets Mom know that she's exotic, beautiful, elegant, and rare. Find this gorgeous piece of oil drum art here. We're crab lovers here at Three Stone Steps, and maybe your Mother is one, too.
