hanging your metal art
Sometimes our metal art comes with a hook in the back, and displaying your art is the same as hanging anything else you'd put on a wall. Other times, there are no hooks. In that case, you just need to find the middle point to balance the piece and hang. That's it. Oh, and metal art is much lighter than people generally think, so no deluxe exploding type nails needed.
caring for your metal art: inside and out
Haitian metal art is pretty hearty stuff (as you might expect from something made from used steel oil drums) but, as with everything else, , there are often questions about wear.
Quick background: All the art we carry is coated with a clear enamel. (The exception is the few painted pieces we carry and those are enamel paint.)
If you're hanging your art inside, there's not much to worry about. Please be aware that the enamel will fade over time and occasionally take on a slight tarnish. If you'd like to avoid this, read on and care as if it's hung outdoors.
If you're hanging your art outdoors, it helps to think of it in the same way you think of outdoor metal furniture. It will be fine for years, but if not treated, rust can form. You just need to clear coat with a clear spray lacquer, easily found in your local neighborhood or big box hardware store. You could go with a paste wax as well. Just follow the directions and your metal art will provide you with years of rust-free enjoyment.
