Here at Three Stone Steps we focus on metal art from Haiti. But sometimes we stray. And, sometimes there are buying trips far afield. In this case, we went on a vacation/big birthday/buying trip to Uzbekistan. While I’ve been back for not quite two weeks, I’m still not over it. There are many photos of many, many beautiful things. Far too many to post here. But, since this is a Friday Photo/s post, here are some amazing textiles to get you to the weekend. Anywhere else, this beautiful suzani and this doorway would stand alone. But in Uzbekistan, there is beauty to spare, so you have this ancient tiled wall and a gorgeous textile. Amazing ikat fabric found in Bukhara. And, here are two intrepid suzani sellers from a market outside of Samarkand who followed me into the parking lot. Three Stone Steps owns the one you can’t really see.
Speaking of markets, please visit us throughout the season at the fantastic Baltimore Farmers Market and Bazaar, most Sundays. (Ok. I won’t be there this weekend.) If you want to check out where you can find Three Stone Steps live, just click here. And, for those not in the area, we’ll try to get some of these amazing finds up on Three Stone Steps‘ site sooner rather than later. Have a great weekend.
